When Darth Vader himself pimps a "Star Wars" character tournament, participating in it is indeed the only way.
The Dark Lord of the Sith has taken center stage to rather enthusiastically introduce "This Is Madness," a tournament that allows fans to vote for their favorite "Star Wars" characters in a series of death matches between the good guys (the "Light Side" of the Force, as it were) and the bad guys (the "Dark Side," of course). Vote for your go-to Jedi, Sith, Rebel, scoundrel or bounty hunter and help decide who is, once and for all, the galaxy's most popular "Star Wars" character.
Character tournaments are fun as they often inadvertently conjure up bits of what could be seen as rather absurd fan fiction, presenting ridiculous but highly entertaining scenarios in which, say, a Jawa takes on General Grievous or C-3PO (who exclaimed "This is madness!" in "The Empire Strikes Back") takes on Boba Fett. Votes tend to be based on personal preference rather than actual character ability (everyone knows that C-3PO would totally kick Boba Fett's ass), but the galaxy is certainly not going to be won with common sense.
The first round begins on Monday, March 18, with new match-ups and results featured every day until Tuesday, April 9, when the winner of "This Is Madness" will be named. Although, according to the Dark Lord, there is only one true course of action: Vote Now, Vote Often and Vote Vader!
