Over the past four years the "Twilight" series has made a staggering $2.5 billion. But that's not the only stat worth reporting. Take a look at "Twilight" by the numbers:
-The four top-earning teen romance films of all time are all four "Twilight" films. "Save the Last Dance" (2001) and "Step Up" (2006) come in at a distant 5th and 6th place, respectively.
-The entire "Twilight" film series thus far represents the highest earning vampire films of all time, followed by "Hotel Transylvania" (2012) and "Van Helsing" (2004), respectively.

-Series creator Stephenie Meyer, a stay-at-home mom, hadn't written even one book professionally before "Twilight." She first typed up her initial story about a young woman and a vampire following a vivid dream she had about the tale. Incidentally, it only took her three months to write the first book.
-"Breaking Dawn" the book, which has been broken up into two movies, sold a record-breaking 1.3 million copies in one day.
-More than 5,000 guys auditioned for the part of Edward.
-"Twilight"-related searches are understandably up on Yahoo! as the release of the final film nears. In the past seven days, searches for "stephanie meyer" (yes, misspelled) are up 371 percent followed by "breaking dawn movie," which is up 150 percent.
