The breakaway hit of the Toronto Film Festival was "Shame," the Steve McQueen-Michael Fassbender joint that earned a pickup by Fox Searchlight, Oscar buzz for Fassbender and almost assuredly an NC-17 rating. (There's lot of Fassbender wang, apparently, spotted by countless motorists.) It's the performance that made The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy do a happy dance. The first trailer is out, and we will say that there is not nearly enough street space in New York City to run so far, so fast, so unabated.
