Tony Stark is one of the coolest guys on Earth, and he dresses like it. But Hank Palmer? Not so much.
Palmer is the character Robert Downey Jr. will play in the upcoming comedy-drama, "The Judge," and judging from pictures that have surfaced from the set, Hank looks fine, but could use a bit of fashion advice from Tony.
However, if anyone can make a polo shirt and jeans look stylish, it's RDJ, and he was giving it his best effort on the set of "The Judge" when photographers caught some images of him in between shots on location in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.
In "The Judge," Downey is playing Hank Palmer, an attorney who returns to his hometown for a family funeral, only to discover his father, who he hasn't spoken with in years, has been accused of murder. When Hank learns his dad is struggling with Alzheimer’s, he sets aside their differences to represent his father in court.
In the pictures from the set in Massachusetts, Downey sure looks like a lawyer dressed for Casual Friday – the goatee or cool guy stubble he usually sports is gone, with RDJ looking suitably clean shaven and his hair in a sensible, workaday style.
As for his outfit, Downey rocks a burgundy-colored polo shirt that looks to be straight off the rack of a mid-priced clothing store, while sporting dark jeans that do not appear to be the product of an exclusive designer. Downey carries a plain black shoulder satchel, and wears a plain but not cheap-looking wristwatch. The only bling he has on is a simple bracelet on his right wrist. In short, Hank Palmer looks clean, confident, and well groomed, but not dressed to impress on this particular day.
Expect Palmer to wear something a good bit classier when he has to plead his father's case before the jury, perhaps akin to the suit he was spotted wearing (in the inset photo). And maybe, just maybe, he'll be decked out in some Stark-style swag if he hits the clubs in Shelburne Falls on Saturday night.
"The Judge" is being directed by David Dobkin, who previously helmed "Wedding Crashers," "Fred Claus," and "The Change-Up." The cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Robert Duvall, Vera Farmiga, Vincent D'Onofrio, Dax Shepard, and Leighton Meester. "The Judge" is expected to arrive in theaters in 2014.
