Jeff Bridges: prolific actor, Oscar winner, and the man who will forever be known as The Dude. Just ask his "Seventh Son" co-star Ben Barnes. He has some hilarious proof showing how fans choose to remember Bridges best.
Barnes told Yahoo! Movies that when he and Bridges appeared at Comic-Con last year to announce "Seventh Son," he heard "boo" from backstage when Bridges appeared in front of fans. "He's getting booed. This is awful," Barnes recalled thinking at the time. But they were really saying "Duuude! Duuude!" Barnes confirmed while standing alongside a chuckling Bridges at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday.
To this day, Bridges told us, he still gets a whole lot of fanfare for the 1982 sci-fi adventure "Tron," 2008's action hero flick "Iron Man," and what is arguably the role he is most famous for — his landmark performance as Jeffry Lebowski, a.k.a. The Dude, in the 1998 Coen Brothers movie "The Big Lebowski."
The 63-year-old actor was joined at this year's Con by Barnes, their "Seventh Son" co-star Kit Harington, and the film's director Sergey Bodrov. But Bridges's "Big Lebowski" co-star Julianne Moore — who also appears in "Son" as an evil witch — did not abide. She was nowhere to be seen!
Who knew walking around in a bathrobe, drinking milk out of a carton, and portraying an overall loser would prove to be such a winning move.
"Seventh Son" is due in theaters Jan. 17, 2014. "The Big Lebowski" Collector's Edition is available on DVD.
