As we get closer to the highly-anticipated May 3 release date for “Iron Man 3,” the promotional efforts over at Disney/Marvel have kicked into expectedly high gear. We’ve seen new trailers, new TV spots and now we have a new set of posters.

The new-ness of the posters involves a version of Tony Stark and Iron Man that doesn’t actually feature star Robert Downey Jr. Behold, the LEGO-ized twist on two familiar images, the first is LEGO Iron Man, complete with the signature Stark/Downey Jr.-sported goatee, kneeling in the center of the action in the ocean, with other assorted LEGO Iron Suits blasting up into the sky in the background - a salute to this RDJ-centric poster. The second poster is a reimagining of this image and shows LEGO Tony Stark in his special secret suit storage room, staring at his technical achievements but also looking behind him as if he knows something is coming for him.

The posters are meant to build as much excitement for the film as they are for the corresponding LEGO Marvel Super Heroes sets, which are targeted toward the film’s younger fans (and their parents). The “Iron Man” sets caused quite a stir earlier this year when they were released and possibly unveiled a few spoilers via the action scenes depicted in sets like Iron Man Extremis: Seaport Battle and Iron Man vs. The Mandarin: Ultimate Showdown.

Don’t forget that the U.S. premiere of “Iron Man 3” is quickly approaching. We now have an official date and location, April 24 in Los Angeles, which you’ll be able to catch right here as Yahoo! Movies will be streaming the red carpet event at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT.

Until then, check out photos of Robert Downey Jr. and other cast members on the film’s international press tour that has so far swept through France, Germany, Russia, China, South Korea.
