Will Ferrell Digs That ‘Blades of Glory’ Sample in ‘Watch the Throne’ as Much as We Do

Sure, we're a movie site, but we spend a decent part of our day listening to albums as well. And, like most everybody else on the planet, we continue to love "Watch the Throne," the inspired album-length collaboration between Kanye West and Jay-Z. It's such a good record we've had to listen extra-long to decide what track is our favorite. But we think we finally have our answer: "N---as in Paris," which, beyond its dazzling beat, has a brilliantly out-of-left-field sample from Will Ferrell and Jon Heder from "Blades of Glory." We've been waiting for someone to finally ask Ferrell if he's heard it. And he has! And he likes it too!

MTV emailed Ferrell about the awesome (but NSFW) track, and the actor said that the rappers had approached him about permission:

"Kanye reached out to me and I said, 'Of course,' " Ferrell wrote. "I was completely flattered when they asked if they could sample me into the song ... and when I heard it for the first time, I just started to laugh because it felt so surreal. But I really did like the song."

Apparently, the collaboration didn't end there: Ferrell says that he had been talking about filming something that would play behind the rappers during their current tour, but that it hasn't come together yet.

This isn't the first time that Ferrell entered Kanye's orbit. A year ago when Kanye was still reeling from the backlash after that whole Taylor Swift debacle at the VMAs, he at one point compared his situation to Ferrell's Ron Burgundy from "Anchorman" after the character "cursed on air and the entire city turned on him ... But this wasn't a joke. This was & is my real life." We totally understand, Kanye -- except you know in "Anchorman" Burgundy was tricked, right? You screwed up on your own.

Regardless, if you haven't seen "Blades of Glory," here's the scene that contains the original lines sampled in the "Watch the Throne" track. We can see this becoming a future movie trivia question: What "one song and one song only" did Ferrell's character suggest they skate to? The answer may surprise you!

Man, that stuff's cray.
