"Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James took to Twitter early Monday morning to share some big news ... the long-awaited decision of who will play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in her sultry, sex-infused tale-turned-mega motion picture.
The gorgeous and talented Charlie Hunnam will be Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. — E L James (@E_L_James) September 2, 2013
The casting has certainly surprised many. Hunnam, 33, stars on AMC's hit show "Sons of Anarchy," however, Johnson, 23, still seems relatively known, despite appearing in a smattering of television and movie roles. To date, she is most notable for being the star spawn of actress Melanie Griffith and actor Don Johnson.
Prior to the duo's casting, the highly-anticipated flick had dozens of stars vying for the two starring roles and speculation has run rampant regarding who would eventually headline the movie. Early frontrunners for casting included, "Game of Thrones" beauty Emilia Clarke, "White Collar's" Matt Bomer, "Vampire Diaries" hottie Ian Somerhalder, and "Mad Men" actress Alexis Bledel.
Now that the cat is out of the bag or handcuffs (if you will), fans are reacting on social media with a range of emotions from outrage to disappointment, even calling the actors "ugly" and threatening to not see the movie. Check it out!
