Emma Roberts is having a moment. She recently got engaged — allegedly — to fellow actor Evan Peters. Her show, "American Horror Story: Coven," was nominated for a Golden Globe. Her 2013 movie "We're the Millers" was a surprise smash, earning $150 million in the U.S. Even her Aunt Julia just got an Oscar nomination for "August: Osage County." It seems like the 22-year-old actress is ready to enter the "Adult World" with the trailer for her movie of the same name debuting exclusively here on Yahoo Movies.
Roberts stars in the indie comedy as Amy, a struggling young poet who gets shoved out of the nest by her fed-up parents. Needing work, she stumbles into a job at a porn shop run by the wacky Mary Anne (Cloris Leachman). She meets a down-to-earth guy her own age (Peters, her real-life fiancé — allegedly), but she's still fixated on her older writing teacher, Rat Billings (John Cusack).
It can be awkward for teen stars to make the transition to a grown-up star, but Roberts did have some help on "Adult World" with someone that had been through it personally. Director Scott Coffey was also a young actor, having appeared in '80s flicks like "SpaceCamp," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Some Kind of Wonderful" and "Satisfaction" (with Roberts' aunt). Coffey also has a cameo in "Adult World" as the bookstore owner.
"Adult World" opens in limited release and will available on demand on Feb. 14.
