DTotD: Player hit in the back with a piece of wood after late winner against River Plate

Godoy Cruz beat River Plate 2-1, with the winner coming in the third minute of injury time from Julio Rodriguez. This did not please River Plate supporters, so one of them chucked a piece of wood at the celebrating Godoy Cruz players, hitting Leandro Grimi (who scored his side's first goal) in the back.

Grimi received treatment even though the jagged projectile didn't appear to pierce his skin and he was able to finish out the match. But a note to supporters with anger issues: hitting opposing players with things won't help your team win, nor will it make you feel better about your station in life.

UPDATE: In an effort to avoid a stadium ban, River's president announced they are trying to track down the fan responsible for the wood throwing. From Reuters:

"You can't punish 50,000 fans because of one idiot who causes damage. He evidently broke off a part of the stand because he didn't get in (to the stadium) with that (wood)," said club president Rodolfo D'Onofrio.

"We're searching for him on the cameras to identify him and apply the maximum sanction... to expel him. We don't want people like that coming into a football ground ever again," he told TyC Sports.
