Gabourey Sidibe was named by many as one of the worst dressed stars on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night. And, as you can imagine, some people commenting on social media were less than kind.
But the "American Horror Story: Coven" actress, 30, responded Monday with a pretty awesome comeback pointing out the obvious — that many of her critics were hating from … well, somewhere other than her glamorous world. Burn!
"To people making mean comments about my GG pics, I mos def cried about it on that private jet on my way to my dream job last night. #JK," she tweeted.
The dress in question, an off-white number with beaded detailing at the bust, was designed by "Project Runway" alum Michael Costello and stylist Daniel Musto. Oddly, though, Costello seemed to distance himself from his work just one day after Sidibe debuted it. "To everyone asking I just wanted to show you the original dress design for Gabourey sidibe," he captioned an Instagram photo of the dress he'd created. "This I made for her and a stylist name Daniel Musto altered it . Gabby is so sweet and wonderful and I think she is an amazing confident actress . And hope to work together again with out the middle men!"
As the actress prepared to hit the red carpet before the show, Musto and Sidibe both shared a photo of him working on the garment with a safety pen and sticking himself in the process. Do you think the alterations were a good idea?
Of course, judging from her tweet, Sidibe's too confident to care what any of us think anyway!
