‘Django Unchained’ and ‘Ted’ lead the 2013 MTV Movie Awards nominations

Movie Talk

This year in the land of the Golden Popcorn, it's all about a gunslinging slave turned bounty hunter ... and a hard-drinking teddy bear who sounds a lot like the guy who hosted the Oscars.

"Django Unchained" and "Ted" have emerged as the major contenders of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards as they've scored seven nominations each, including Movie of the Year, Best On-Screen Duo, Best Fight, Best Kiss and Best WTF Moment. Ted himself is even going up against such heavyweights as Taylor Lautner and Channing Tatum in the Best Shirtless Moment category.

"Silver Linings Playbook" is the first runner-up with six nominations, including a Best Female Performance nod (natch) for Jennifer Lawrence. "The Dark Knight Rises," Christian Bale's third (though perhaps not final!) go-round as Batman, has five nominations, including one for Best Fight and two for Best Villain, the latter pitting Tom Hardy's Bane and (uh, spoiler?) Marion Cotillard's Talia al Ghul against each other.

Finally, "The Avengers," "Pitch Perfect," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "Skyfall" bring up the rear with four nominations each, with 007's latest adventure getting an amusing Best WTF Moment nom (titled "Oops ... There Goes His Face").

The full list of nominees can be found below. The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will be held on Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, with voting open from now through Saturday, April 13 at the show's official site.
