Do people want to see a Russell Brand movie that's not "Hop"? That's a legitimate question after "Arthur" tanked and "Get Him to the Greek" was only a modest success. Still he fights on, now producing and starring in "The President Stole My Girlfriend." It's a comedy in which the president swipes the girlfriend of Brand's self-described "sexy hippie" character. If Brand is playing him, shouldn't he be a "scraggly homeless-looking" character?  [The Hollywood Reporter]

As a general rule, we don't mention rumors in Casting About, but because there's nothing going on, hey, we'll make an exception just this once. Michael Fassbender is supposedly going to be approached to star in the "Robocop" remake that will be directed by Jose Padilha (who made the "Elite Squad" movies). Fassbender hasn't committed to the role -- or even met with the director -- but here's what he had to say about the role: "It could be kind of good to have a helmet that I could hide behind, for most of the film, too. That sounds kind of appealing." (He's got a fondness for helmets.) We kinda love the guy at the moment: We're hoping he ends up doing the movie. [Collider]
