Bradley Cooper Is George Clooney Is ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’

The Projector

In a world in which we are supposed to question whether or not "The Muppets" still have cultural relevance, it's bizarre that a movie version of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." would be such a hot commodity. This is a television show that ran for four years and ended in 1968. Of course, when Steven Soderbergh is involved, everything's a hot commodity (unless of course it's Spalding Gray).

Originally, George Clooney was gonna play the lead role -- played by Robert Vaughn in the TV show -- of Soderbergh's adaptation, but now it looks like it's gonna be Bradley Cooper. It's quite a get for Cooper, to be the lead in a Soderbergh movie that isn't going directly to HBO.

If you're wondering, U.N.C.L.E. stands for "United Network Command for Law and Enforcement." But that's nothing compared to the bad guys on the show, T.H.R.U.S.H., which stands, awesomely, for Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity. We hope Soderbergh keeps the opening titles.
