Whoa, when did Alyssa Milano get so tough? The 40-year-old actress looks ready to rumble in this new poster for the buzzy sci-fi flick "Edge of Tomorrow," except... wait a second, that's not Milano!
If you did a double take when you saw this poster, you're not the only one. Emily Blunt, who's actually the woman under all that armor, doesn't quite look like herself, to the point where she actually looks like someone else — namely Ms. Milano of former "Who's the Boss" sitcom fame, currently one of Twitter's biggest celebs.
Perhaps it's the profile shot, or the fact that so many movie posters are airbrushed and warped into oblivion, but Blunt is looking less like the shotgun-wielding mama from "Looper" and more like the inspiration for "The Little Mermaid."
Another reason Blunt may seem tough to recognize: She's constantly changing her hair color and has admitted to having "schizophrenic" style.
All things considered, Blunt's got a better face on than co-star Tom Cruise in his "Edge of Tomorrow" poster — has the man looked over 30 in any of his last couple of film posters?
"Edge of Tomorrow" is based off of the Japanese light novel "All You Need Is Kill," from which the film got its original title. In it, Cruise plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage, who's trapped in a day-long time loop in which he continuously wakes up, fights aliens, and dies to live another day. Blunt's character, Rita Vrataski, is a fellow soldier, whom Cage encounters again and again within his never-ending war trip.
During the film's Comic-Con panel, Cruise revealed that Vrataski's nickname amongst the soldiers in the film is the "Full Metal B----" — perhaps she's the sci-fi version of Blunt's "The Devil Wears Prada" character? Whatever the case, the film's marketing team should make sure their leading lady looks like herself instead of a very out of place Samantha Micelli.
