We're old enough to remember when movies didn't come out on video until years after their theatrical run. (And we're also suckers for how Disney will bring old classics "out of the vault" for re-releases.) So we felt a tingle down our spine when Warner Bros. revealed today that they'll stop shipping DVDs of the "Harry Potter" movies after December 29. Don't worry, though: There will still be plenty of copies of "Green Lantern" available. [Deadline]

Composer Hans Zimmer has been nominated for nine Oscars, winning one for ________? (Right, "The Lion King.") Although he might have been nominated this year for "Rango," he's announced he's not going to submit himself for consideration. "I just want to sit it out," he says. Esteemed film critic Pauline Kael will be the featured lady in two books coming out this week: "The Age of Movies: Selected Writings of Pauline Kael" and a biography called "Pauline Kael: A Life in the Dark."
