Adrien Brody, Lindsay Lohan and ShamWow Guy Belly Flop With ‘InAPPropriate Comedy’
Lindsay Lohan channels Marilyn Monroe in Vince Offer's film 'InAPPropriate Comedy' (Freestyle Releasing)
Vince Offer -- the overly zealous headset-sporting guy from those ShamWow and SlapChop commercials -- has written and directed the flick. (Yes, thankfully, he is a filmmaker, too!) "InAPPropriate" -- which appears to unnecessarily capitalize "APP" since the film has nothing to do with computer applications -- flopped in a major way as it opened over the weekend, making an abysmal $172 thousand. It opened in 275 theaters, only averaging $625 per screen, putting it among the 25 worst per-screen openings in recorded history, according to Box Office Mojo figures.

The cast is rounded out by Michelle Rodriguez ("Avatar" and "The Fast and the Furious" series), Rob Schneider ("Deuce Bigalow"), and Hollywood's troubled actress herself, Lindsay Lohan -- who finds herself yet again the butt of movie jokes following her train wreck of a film "The Canyons."
The few who dared to watch and review "InAPPropriate," panned it. The New York Times even felt compelled use variations of the word "awful" thirteen times in an article about it, mostly in the first paragraph. The Huffington Post offered a live blog "of a terrible movie" and a New York Post critic called the film "an inept, brutally unfunny collection of sketches."
Apparently Offer has been passionate about getting this film out and seen. It has a strange history dating back to 1999, when he released his debut film "The Underground Comedy Movie," starring the late Michael Clarke Duncan, Joey Buttafuoco and Karen Black. He made a sort-of sequel to the film in 2010, re-releasing it with extra footage of Lohan in Marylin Monroe garb -- and now that footage has carried over to this latest iteration of the sort-of trilogy, "InAPPropriate."
