Yes, Leslie Knope did just get booted off the Pawnee city council... but you can't keep a good Knope down for long.

In this exclusive sneak peek at Thursday's all-new "Parks and Recreation" (the first since star Amy Poehler's much-deserved Golden Globe win), Leslie makes an enthusiastic return to the Pawnee parks department, ready to get down to business at her first morning meeting. But first, she notices the plaque identifying each employee's spirit dog (a nice callback to November's "Fluoride") — and takes issue with her being paired with a border collie.

"I'm so obviously a cocker spaniel," she gripes, before Donna and April shut her down, saying "there is no appeals process." When Leslie tries to steer the meeting back to work, Donna grumbles under her breath: "Classic border collie... has to control everything." Everybody laughs, including Leslie... a little too loudly.

First on the agenda: the conversion of an abandoned hot-stew stand to a cool new lemonade stand, courtesy of new business liaison Tom. The news is enough for Tom to break out his champagne-popping app (only 9 bucks!), but Leslie feels a little left out when she sees how well things are running without her. Again, classic border collie.

"Parks and Recreation" airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
