Warner Bros.’ raunchy comedy “We’re the Millers” launched respectably with $1.7 million in late-night showings Tuesday.

Recent forecasts had estimates for a five-day total in the high $20 millions range for “Millers” starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis as the parents of a fake family trying to smuggle marijuana out of Mexico. Other estimates were as high as $35 million.

Reviews have been mixed for the R-rated movie, which is opening at 3,150 locations.

Fox’s sequel “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters” is opening Wednesday at 2,800 along with Disney’s animated “Planes” at 3,400.  Sony’s sci-fi epic “Elysium” opens on Friday.
