Bobby Brown, Tito Jackson, and Others Honor Teddy Riley at ‘Soul Train Awards’

Superfan TV

Teddy has had a long history in the music industry and is credited with creating the new jack swing genre. He was a member of the R & B groups Guy and Blackstreet, and while working on Wreckx-N-Effect’s hit, “Rump Shaker,” Teddy discovered Pharrell Williams. He is possibly best known in the music industry as a producer, having produced artists like Doug E. Fresh, Bobby Brown, and Michael Jackson.

After accepting the award, Teddy performed a medley of songs that he had been a part of over the years, and many stars joined him onstage for the jam session. Bobby Brown came out to sing a little of “My Prerogative,” Wreckx-N-Effect came out for “Rump Shaker,” and Tito Jackson played guitar on his brother Michael’s hit “Remember the Time.”
