Because the St. Louis Cardinals, the Official Team/Obsession/Reason For Being of The Projector, are in the World Series, lots of people have been asking us our favorite baseball movie. We believe this answer to an obvious one: "Bull Durham." There are other good baseball movies ("A League of Their Own," "Eight Men Out," "Field of Dreams"), but nothing's close to that one. Not that we've been able to answer that question; all we do in response is scream. They really shouldn't ask us that question in the middle of a Cardinals World Series game.
Here are things that happened this week:
*** They're having the darndest time showing "J. Edgar."
*** Rian Johnson could totally beat up Jason Reitman.
*** Stop being so attractive, Scarlett Johansson.
*** In praise of Antonio Banderas in "The Skin I Live In."
*** Yeah, kiss off, "Human Centipede."
*** A Tribe Called Quest, still fighting.
*** Please do not reveal The Projector's age on IMDB. (OK, we're about two months old.)
*** Hey, Jason Statham could work in "Transformers."
*** River Phoenix's last movie, coming out, maybe. (But probably not.)
*** Don't forget: The 'Catfish' guys are kind of full of it.
*** "Martha Marcy May Marlene" is The Projector's Movie of the Week.
*** Werner Herzog will be a great Tom Cruise villain.
*** We hope people are cool with Lana Wachowski.
*** Some of the old "Muppet" gang don't like the new "Muppets" that much.

OK, that'll do it for us. We are so relieved to have a night off of baseball. Our soul (and liver) can't take it. Be safe out there, and we'll see you Monday.
