Who Will Dig It?
Certainly anyone who has ever bought one of the 350 million copies of Herge's books sold worldwide, but any fan of rip-roaring adventures will find plenty to like.
Three Good Reasons
- 1 Two of the biggest names in cinema -- Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson -- team up to bring a classic tale to life with the latest 3D technology.
- 2 The characters are digital, but there's real acting talent behind them: Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, and Simon Pegg to name a few.
- 3 It's written by three very clever and exceeding funny Brits, Stephen Moffat ("Doctor Who"), Edgar Wright ("Hot Fuzz") and Joe Cornish ("Attack the Block").
Bet You Didn't Know
Neither you nor anyone else knows if Tintin is the young journalist's first or last name. It was never revealed in any of the 24 "Adventures of Tintin" books. Some experts say it's supposed to be a penname, like his creator Herge used (his real name was Georges Prosper Remi). The name itself may literally mean "nothing." It may have been taken from the French phrase "faire tintin," meaning "to go without."
