Benedict Cumberbatch is putting his artistic talents to use for a good cause.
The British actor has donated a self-portrait of himself to be bid on during a silent auction, with procedes benefiting the New End Primary School.
According to the U.K. school’s website, the institution is designed to promote “high academic achievement, for all children whilst ensuring that they are well rounded, well adjusted children.”
According to the U.K.'s Express, other stars who have donated to the auction in the past include Bono, Whoopi Goldberg and Julian Lennon.
Cumberbatch, who voices the dragon Smaug Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, also stars oppositite Brad Pitt in the upcoming historical drama 12 Years a Slave, out Dec. 27.
Another arresting image of Cumberbatch recently made the rounds online, when J.J. Abrams revealed a deleted Star Trek Into Darkness scene which showed Cumberbatch’s villain showering.
