By the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth — the rumors were true, and Benedict Cumberbatch will play the Sorcerer Supreme in Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange.

The studio has finally confirmed The Hollywood Reporter’s news from October than the Sherlock star would take the lead role in Scott Derrickson’s adaptation of the 1960s series created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
