‘Avengers 2′: ‘Kick-Ass’ Star Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Early Talks to Play Quicksilver

Ever since Joss Whedon announced Quicksilver would appear in “Avengers 2,” the role has been considered one of the hottest parts in town, and it now looks like Whedon and Marvel may have their man.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is in early talks to land the part in the Marvel sequel. TheWrap and Deadline Hollywood first broke the news.

Besides Robert Downey Jr., who is in talks to return for the next installment, all other cast members are signed on to return so the roles of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch were of top priority.

No plot details have been released and Whedon is returning to direct.

The character has been in the news a lot lately as Bryan Singer recently tweeted that Evan Peters would play the part in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Quicksilver is Magneto’s son in the comics and is comparable to DC Comics’ The Flash.

The WME-repped Johnson was most recently seen in the Focus pic “Anna Karenina.”
