Arnold Schwarzenegger Wraps Oddly Spelled 'Terminator' Sequel

The world has been calling Arnold Schwarzenegger’s latest franchise installment Terminator Genesis — until today. The action megastar revealed the sequel’s title art on Instagram, which includes the intentional misspelling: Genisys. (Note the strategically placed “i” and “y.”)

“Hasta la vista, baby,” Schwarzenegger wrote alongside an image of his silhouette seated in a Terminator Genisys chair. “I want to thank the cast and crew… for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding.”

With stunt cars and motorized cable cars on the scene, filming wrapped up in downtown San Francisco early this week. Spoiler alert: A “chaotic city scene” is in store, said San Francisco Film Commission spokesperson Lauren Machado.

Two other big franchises announced this week the end of filming via social media — Avengers: The Age of Ultron and Jurassic World:

In the Terminator sequel, 67-year-old former “Governator” Schwarzenegger will appear alongside Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Jai Courtney (Divergent), and Matt Smith (Dr. Who). Due in theaters next summer, the action star ended his Instagram note with: “I’ll be back.”

In the meantime, if the oddly spelled title throws you, just know Genisys is in good company. Film history is rife with purposeful title misspells, including:

The Pursuit of Happyness
Biutiful
Pet Sematary
Boyz n the Hood
Menace II Society
Inglourious Basterds
Se7en
Peeples
Phat Girlz

Terminator Genisys enters theaters July 1, 2015.
