'Sisters' Trailer: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey Embrace Their Inner Rowdy Teenagers

Here’s a family reunion any comedy fan would kill to attend. In Sisters, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey play estranged siblings who get together to throw one final, high-school-style party in their childhood home. Quality ‘80s dance moves, temper tantrums, wardrobe malfunctions, drunken antics, and sexual mishaps ensue. Watch the first trailer above.

Aside from a brief cameo in Anchorman 2, real-life friends Fey and Poehler haven’t shared the big screen together since the 2008 comedy Baby Mama. In that movie, Fey played a type-A executive, and Poehler played the freeloading, careless surrogate mother she hires to have her baby. Sisters reverses those roles, allowing Fey to let loose as the black sheep of the family, while Poehler plays the “perfect sister” looking to make up for the teenage rebellion she never had. Their characters are reflected in the actors playing their love interests: Poehler pursues sweet, awkward Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors), while Fey gets her flirt on with a face-tattooed John Cena (who also romances Amy Schumer in the upcoming Trainwreck).

Sisters was written by longtime Saturday Night Live contributor Paula Pell, so it’s not surprising that it’s loaded with Studio 8H alumni; in addition to the leading ladies, the comedy features Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Bobby Moynihan, and Kate McKinnon. The movie opens in theaters on Dec. 25.
