#AlienDay426 Preview: From 'Alien' Stompers to Xenomorph Art

Alien Day is upon us. What, you may wonder, is Alien Day? Tuesday, April 26, a.k.a. “426,” has been designated in honor of the bug-infested moon LV-426 featured in both Ridley Scott’s classic 1979 space horror flick Alien and James Cameron’s white-knuckle 1986 sequel Aliens. Just as Star Wars fans celebrate May the Fourth, Alien aficionados will be able to mark 426 with a slew of special events and commemorative merchandise.

Sigourney Weaver, the bane of all Xenomorphs, will be on hand for a sold-out Aliens showing in New York, while her Aliens co-stars Carrie Henn (Newt) and Jenette Goldstein (the heavily armed Pvt. Vasquez) will appear at the Los Angeles screening. (There will be other showings in select cities, see times at the Alamo Drafthouse site.) Beginning at midnight, 20th Century Fox will be hosting a Twitter contest featuring incredible Alien-themed prizes (more info at AlienAnthology.com). Meanwhile, Mondo has commissioned appropriately freaky artwork and apparel for the occasion. Click through for some of the highlights.
