The trajectory of Chris Farley proves to be no laughing matter for the famous friends who survived the plus-size comic, a trailer for a new documentary proves.

I Am Chris Farley, which will air on Spike TV on August 10 followed by a VOD and digital download rollout the next day, is an oral history of the comedian’s life told by former Saturday Night Live cast members and co-stars.

Adam Sandler, David Spade, Christina Applegate, Molly Shannon, Dan Aykroyd, Bob Saget, Tom Arnold, and more remember the star, who died of a cocaine and morphine overdose in 1997 at the age of 33.

“You can’t walk around being funny all the time. You have to be yourself sometimes, and you have to be alone sometimes,” said Bob Odenkirk, a writer on SNL in the late 1980s, who now stars in Better Call Saul.

“It comes up in something in my mind every day,” said Spade, Farley’s most notable onscreen foil, “…and I think it will forever.”
