A Guide to This Weekend's Memorial Day Movie Marathons

Memorial Day weekend is a time to honor those men and women who gave their lives serving in America’s armed forces. For film fans, it’s also a four-day stretch to enjoy some of the many movie marathons playing on TV. This year, a host of networks are again programming lengthy series, both as a way to pay tribute to the military and to provide some entertainment for those interested in spending the holiday on the couch. Friday, May 27

TCM: A war movie marathon, including Battle of the Bulge, The Longest Day and The Dirty Dozen – 8pm–4:30am

AMC: A Matrix movie marathon, including The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions – 6pm–3am

Saturday, May 28

TCM: A war movie marathon, including Men in War, Bombardier, Behind the Rising Sun, Marine Raiders, Flying Leathernecks, They Were Expendable, The Caine Mutiny, The Hill, The Bridge On the River Kwai and A Bridge Too Far – 4:30am–2:30am
