'Wonder Woman' Director Responds to Claim Film Is a "Mess:" "It's Entirely False"

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is speaking out after an anonymous letter from someone claiming to be a former Warner Bros. employee wrote the film was “another mess” for the studio.
In an anonymous letter to Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara published Friday on Pajiba, the writer details how (in the author’s mind) the studio made a series of missteps leading to 2014 layoffs. The writer also has harsh words for Justice League director Zack Snyder, blaming him for the divided response to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and claiming his work is costing people their jobs.
“What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year,” the letter to Tsujihara reads. “Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn’t be such a mess. Don’t try to hide behind the great trailer. People inside are already confirming it’s another mess. It is almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same producers and executives for making the same mistakes, over and over.”
In a series of tweets Friday, Jenkins responded to media coverage of the letter.
“Woah, just saw this press about WW having problems. Are they serious? This is some made up bs right here. Made up! Produce a source, anyone,” she tweeted. “You can’t because it’s entirely false. Don’t believe the hype people. Someone’s trying to spread some serious misinfo.”

Jenkins went on to say claims the film was in trouble were “totally false.”
“Let me reassure you…Zero about the movie we are making has been called a mess by anyone in the know. Fact,” she continued. “Real lasso of truth, time, will reveal that letter to be false soon enough. But lame something so transparent in its agenda gets traction.”
Warner Bros. declined to comment.

The anonymous letter comes one week after the opening of Suicide Squad, which was disliked by critics but which is expected to cross the $400 million mark globally over the weekend. Wonder Woman, the next film in Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe, is under particular scrutiny following the divided response to previous entries Suicide Squad, BvS and Man of Steel.
Wonder Woman, which stars Gal Gadot as the DC superhero, is set to hit theaters June 2, 2017.
