Turn Oreos into Christmas Trees, Lollipops and More for the Holidays

America’s favorite cookie gets a little holiday treatment with a few crafty, Christmas-y ideas from the workshop. We didn’t think Oreos could get any better — until now!

Whether used as the base for a mini dessert or simply dressed up to dazzle, the Oreo has a few creative tricks up its sleeve.

Oreo Christmas Trees

These little Oreo Christmas trees are just the cutest! Beneath the sweet frosting lies the gift of a berry, and the crunch from the cookie seals the deal for us. We’re pretty sure you won’t be able to stop at one!

Ingredients:

  • Oreos

  • White chocolate candy melts

  • Sanding sugar, sparkling white

  • Strawberries

  • Green decorator’s icing, store-bought with star tip attachment

  • Yellow M&M’s

  • Sugar balls, pearlized white

Instructions:

1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate at 50% power.

2. Top each Oreo with a spoonful of melted white chocolate, to serve as the “snowy” base.

3. Sprinkle the melted white chocolate with sanding sugar, to serve as snowflakes.

4. Top each Oreo with a strawberry, with the pointy end of the berry up, to serve as your tree.

5. Using your star-tipped decorator’s icing, dot frosting all over the strawberry to turn it into a Christmas tree.

6. Top the “tree” with a yellow M&M to serve as the star, and decorate the tree with sugar ball “ornaments.”

Oreo Lollipops

What’s better than a lollipop? An Oreo lollipop of course. How many bites does it take to get to the center of a Double Stuff Oreo pop? Let;s find out!

Ingredients:

  • Double Stuf Oreos

  • White chocolate candy melts

  • Mini M&M’s, red and green

  • Sanding sugar, sparkling white

Materials:

  • Lollipop sticks

  • Cellophane bags

  • Ribbon

  • Parchment paper

Instructions:

1. Separate your Oreos, reserving the nonfrosted sides for another use.

2. Place a lollipop stick onto the frosting of one Oreo half, pressing it gently into the creamy filling, then top that with a second frosted one.

3. Press the two halves together gently, forming a “lollipop.”

4. Melt the white chocolate, and using a spoon, drizzle it over the Oreo pop, covering it completely.

5. Sprinkle the sanding sugar onto a small plate, and lay the covered pop onto the sugar, coating one side.

6. Lay the pop on a piece of parchment paper, sugared side down.

7. Decorate the top side of the pop with mini M&M’s, and allow to dry on the parchment.

8. Once the pops are dry, bag them individually, and tie with a decorative ribbon.

Fancy Oreos

The humble Oreo gets a fancy makeover with just a little bit of holiday fun!

Ingredients:

  • Double Stuf Oreos

  • Mini M&M’s, red and green

  • Sugar balls, white

Instructions:

1. Place mini M&M’s and sugar balls into the frosting between the two cookie halves, alternating in any combination you like.
