Teen Lovingly Poses Stormtroopers Assembling a Christmas Tree. It Will Make Your Dorky Heart Burst With Joy.
Even Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers can’t help but get into the holiday spirit this year.
Kyle Shearrer, a high school student from Columbia, Mo., posted a hilarious photo sequence on Facebook on Sunday that shows Stormtroopers putting up a Christmas tree from the tree skirt on up … with some help from the Force. As everyone has Star Wars on the brain due to the upcoming Dec. 18 release of the seventh film in the series, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Shearrer’s clever comedic series has hit right at the perfect time.
Shearrer posted on Reddit, “My dad owns about 10 Stormtroopers and we always like playing with them, [so we] figured we would do something a little more festive this year. The whole thing took probably an hour or two on and off to set up, and we had a blast trying to give every trooper a little story.”
Click through this image series to see the action unfold — and don’t miss key moments like when a Stormtrooper suddenly appears riding the family dog (dying!) and when Darth Vader makes a sudden cameo for the big tree reveal. And as for those “little stories” Shearrer references, make sure you pay attention to the troopers in the background — deciphering their moment-by-moment ideas, problems, and reactions might be the funniest part of the whole project.
