Pull-Apart Christmas Tree Bread Is Cheesy but So Darned Good

Pull-apart and monkey breads are not only delicious, but also just plain fun to eat. Individual, bite-sized rounds of dough, brought together by sweet and sticky caramel or rich and savory cheese, make for a snacking experience that has us feeling like we’re eating at the kids’ table again.

This holiday season, why not pull apart a Christmas tree? A cheesy, garlicky, buttery Christmas tree, that is.

Have a little fun with your food — ‘tis the season after all!

  • 2 cans store-bought pizza dough

  • 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks

  • 8 tablespoons salted butter, softened

  • Handful parsley

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • Pizza slicer

  • Pastry brush

Preheat the oven to 400°.

1. Spread out both of the pizza dough rectangles.

2. Using the pizza slicer, cut a grid into each pizza dough, about five by five.

3. Slice the string cheeses into bite-sized pieces, making sure you have enough pieces of cheese to match the number of dough squares.

4. Add one piece of cheese to each square of dough and roll the squares into balls around the cheese.
