Ah, the start of a new year. It’s that one magical night every year where we all overcome our differences and think about the exact same thing at the exact same time: How can I become a person who flosses?

Well, this will take you literally the rest of your life to figure out, so we’re here with a much more manageable goal: Become less gross.

That’s right, folks, 2016 is the year where each and every one of us can adult up and become just a little bit less of a driveling college freshman co-ed. It’s time to be less gross!

Not all bacteria are bad for you, but knowing how to avoid the bad stuff, along with mold, mildew, skin irritants, allergens, and air pollutants can improve your skin, respiratory system, and overall health and quality of life.

And don’t worry: Our list is 21 items long, so even if you follow through on only 8 percent of these resolutions — the national average — you’ll still be just a little less gross.
