Make These Turf Coasters for the Big Game

If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Get into the spirit of the game day party at your house- again- by making these tuff DIY turf drink coasters. The guys and gals will know just what yard line to put their drink down on.

Materials:

• ‘Astro Turf’

• Cork Tiles

• Black Tape

• White tags

• Athletic shoe laces

• White Spray paint

• Masking Tape

Tools:

• Utility knife or roller cutter

• Straight Edge

• Cutting Mat

• Hot Glue

Instructions:

1. Roll out turf and mask it so only a thin line (about 2/3rds from the side) is showing

2. Spray the white line, let dry, remove masking

3. Cut the turf into 4”x4” squares

4. Cut the cork tile into 4”x4” squares

5. Hot glue underside of turf and cork together

6. Stack the coasters, tie up with shoe string like a package

7. Put a stripe of black tape down a white tag like a referee

8. Attach tag, write a message

Hint:

Make sure to get a low pile inexpensive turf so the drinks will sit securely.
