Last Minute, Minute to Win It New Year's Eve Games

Yes, the countdown will begin. Yes, the ball will drop. Yes, the party will rage. But, how do you keep grown-ups and kids alike entertained? We have an answer that will take very little time or money.

Minute to win it games.

Set the stage for the games by blowing up as many balloon a you have games. Write a time on each ballon and place a slip of paper in the balloon that says what game you will play at that time.

Junk in The Trunk

Take a Kleenex box and cut two slits for a belt to slide through. Then fill the box with Pin Pong Balls. Place the box belt around the players hips. They must shake rattle and roll to try and get as many balls on the floor as they can.

Yank Me

Place and index card between stacked cups and see how many the players can pull out within the minute.

Wreaking Ball

Place a tennis ball at the end of a pair of stockings. Tie the two legs together. Place the stockings on a players head. Line up 2-10 bottles of water. The player must knock down as many as they can in a minute.

Snowman Building

Each team gets toilette paper, a hat and a scarf. The team must pick their snowman and get busy. the team that builds the best snowman in a minute wins.

Doughnut Eating

Hang doughnuts from a string and make the players stretch to eat them. You can make it harder by blindfolding them or making them stand on a line that you create by placing tape on the floor.

Sticky Situation x2

For the first game simply spread peanut butter on a piece of toast and place in on a table. Then make players stand a good distance away and try to toss marshmallows onto it. The player with the most marshmallows in the peanut butter wins.

For the second game put a smear of Vaseline on a player’s nose. Place a pile of cotton balls in a bowl. Now see who can get the most balls out of the bowl and into another.

Snack Toss

Divide into 2 teams. Each team picks two players to place shower caps and shaving cream on their heads. The rest of the team has to stay behind the line and toss as many cheese puffs on top of the shower capped heads as possible.

Noodle Line Up 

Place penne pasta around the edge of a table. Place a spaghetti noodle in a players mouth and see how many pieces of pasta they can get on the spaghetti in a minute.

Stack ‘Em

Who can create the biggest pyramid in one minute?

Moving on Up

Have a stack of red cups. Put a blue cap on the bottom. See who is the fastest at getting the blue cup to the top.

Hot Air

Line up cups all in a row a bit in front of a long piece of painters tape. With a straw the player needs to blow as many cups as they can behind the line.

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Place 5-35 jingle bells in a numbered box or bag. The player must put them in order of least to most. Who ever gets it right wins.

Kiss Count

Number cups 1 through 20. Do the same to Kisses. The player must try to put as many of the matching numbered cups over the corresponding kisses.

Then get the grown ups talking with by placing some thought-provoking questions and sentence starters in a hat and allow people to pick out of it and respond at random. Here are some samples from a few year’s back.
