The Coolest Way To Upcycle Old Lampshades

Bring the attic back to life with this whimsical light fixture.   We’ve taken a bunch of lampshades and lampshade frames and strung them up in a haphazard way, added a few naked lightbulbs and some string and there you go- stylish and fun !

Materials:

  • Various lampshades and lampshade frames

  • Jute string

  • Electrical lamp sockets

  • Lamp cording

  • Light bulbs (one with color)

  • S hook

  • Rings Tools:

Tools:

  • Screwdriver

  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Following the manufacturers directions attach the lamp cording to the socket

  2. Add the light bulbs and test to work

  3. Attach your S hook above you so that you can build your chandelier in a hanging fashion

  4. Cut the jute string and attach to your center piece lampshade, tie to ring and hang on S hook

  5. Continue attaching lampshades/frames to existing centerpiece and S hook, building on the idea

  6. Drop the naked lightbulbs and cording into the chandelier from the top, spacing the lights around and varying the heights of the bulbs

  7. Wrap the cording around the S hook so that all the elements can be attached together and kept in place
