With the holidays comes entertaining, but the hustle and bustle of hosting can steal your joy. A self-serve beverage station is a great way to keep guests mingling and out of your kitchen. Follow these three steps to create a simple and festive station for your party or dinner gathering.

1. Skip the full-service coffee bar and provide basic drinks

It’s tempting to go all out when entertaining, but you can pamper your guests without going overboard. Focus on a few basic options. Apple cider, tea and coffee are great choices. Set out the tea kettle, a few types of coffee and tea, and a pitcher of chilled apple cider (or an urn of hot cider) and you’re ready to go.

2. Provide toppings to elevate simple drinks

Topping choices can really make your drinks feel special. Small bowls of whipped cream, cinnamon, and cinnamon sticks give your guests options to spruce up their beverages. If you want to go the extra mile, you can even sit out a small, battery-powered coffee frother.

3. Don’t forget the pretty details

Adding some seasonal style to your beverage station is a must. For Thanksgiving, include a few pumpkins interspersed throughout for a simple but fitting holiday touch.

For Christmas, a few sprigs of greenery and berries tucked among your station are great options.

You need a towel to wipe up spills. Choose a beautiful printed towel that gives your station personality.

And don’t forget a variety of pretty cups. Vintage, colorful or glitzy cups instantly make an everyday cup of coffee feel like a treat.

Now you’re ready for some fuss-free, but stylish holiday entertaining!
