You know that MALM dresser ($169) from Ikea that everyone seems to have? Well, you can stand out from the pack by adding a bit of a personal touch to it!

Materials:

  • Glue dots

Tools:

  • Glass cleaner

  • Paper towels

  • Masking tape

Instructions:

1. Have your plexiglass panels cut so they are 3/4” from sides.

2. Run a guide of masking tape down each side of the face of the dresser

3. Clean each panel of plexiglass with glass cleaner as you go and try not to touch with fingertips.

4. Put a glue dot on each corner of plexiglass panel and a few more down the sides, then press the panel carefully onto the front of each drawer, following the guide edge so that they are all lined up.

The smaller drawers will only require one dot per corner, whereas the larger drawers will need a few more running down the edges to support the added weight of the larger plexiglass pieces.

Leave the protective paper on the panels until they are in place.

Once you remove them, you’ll be left with a truly unique piece of big box furniture.
