Take Note! A Quick Way To Spruce Up Your Stationery
We remember having beautiful collections of stationery back when writing on paper was standard. Though most correspondence is clicked out on keys these days, we love the idea of having a little hand dyed parchment close at hand.
Materials:
Watercolor paper
Fabric dye
Hot water
Wood plank
Big nail
Tools:
Hammer
Plastic tub or bin
Hole punch
Scissors
Instructions:
Bring a kettle of water to the boil and pour it into a big plastic bin or tub. Add the fabric dye. Mix and allow it to cool slightly. Slowly dunk your sheet of watercolor paper in the dye, partially submerging it, and pull it out slowly. The more slowly you pull, the more of an ombre effect you will achieve. Allow paper to dry completely.
Cut the paper into long notecards and punch a hole in the center at the top of each card.
Thread the nail through the notecards and hammer it into the top end of your wood board. Now you can tear off a notecard and give someone a beautiful handwritten note.
