Guy Creates Awesome Superhero Mural Using 8,000 Post-Its
After getting seriously bored with the drab, grey walls of his office, Ben Brucker decided to take matters into his own hands and, as he put it, ‘spruce them up a bit.’
With the permission of his bosses and a $300 budget, Brucker set out to transform the bland space. And the result is AWESOME!
“I got so tired of how sterile and boring our office felt,” Brucker wrote on his Imgur page. “I thought I should do something about it.”

“We had a lot of space to work with and realized that painting would take a long time, and would be difficult to remove, so we landed on Post-Its as a semi-cheap and fully temporary decision.”
Coming up with the idea of what to put on the walls didn’t take very long.
“I wanted something colorful, playful and inspiring. My creative director (yes, Ben and his colleagues work for a San Francisco based Creative Agency) and i tossed around some ideas. Eventually he suggested superheroes.”

After making a list of his favorite Marvel and DC heroes, Ben set to work on a pixel grid of each one. He and his team then used to bring the murals to life. Figuring out how many Post-Its they would need was a complicated process.

“The designs were going to require 8,024 Post-Its on total,” Brucker explained.
“Once i calculated the total i needed of each color, i had to figure out how many of each color pack i needed to order. Some of them only came in assortment packs with other colors, so i decided on some of the backgrounds based on the most efficient use of the budget. I ended up purchasing about 9,000 Post-Its.”

Ben and his team then worked through the weekend to get the project completed.

Sadly, the team are going to be moving to a different office space in the next couple of months. But at least until then they will have the coolest office ever.

Ben also made the great time lapse video of them completing the project. Check it out:
