WATCH: Wanna Be Fierce Like Arya Stark From "Game of Thrones?" Video Shows You How to Make Her Sword

“Game of Thrones” premieres this Sunday and what better way to celebrate than by making your own version of Arya Stark’s little instrument of death?

In the latest episode of the web show “Man at Arms: Reforged,” the team at Baltimore Knife and Sword create their own version of “Needle” — the affectionately named sword wielded by the “Game of Thrones’” teen heroine.

Like Arya herself, Needle is small, unimposing and easily underestimated — that is, until it’s punching you full of holes. But as we see in this eight minute video, making a DIY version of Needle is no small task.

The Man at Arms group started by cutting together multiple matching lengths of steel and welding them together to form the blade, which was then heated, hammered and twisted into Needle’s familiar pointy shape. The blade was then heated and hammered repeatedly and polished.

To replicate Needle’s ornate crossguard (the thin piece of metal above the handle that runs perpendicular to the blade) and the pommel (the rounded knob at the base of the handle), the Man at Arms gang used their own collection of similar-looking 18th century small swords for inspiration. They shaped the pieces out of wax, hand carved them into shape, and cast them in bronze.

They put all the pieces together and presto: a real-life Needle was born.

So, if you’re adept at steelwork and wax carving, watch the video and see about making your own Needle to re-create Arya’s one-girl campaign of teenage vengeance. Or you can just use it to knock `em dead (figuratively) at your “Game of Thrones” premiere party.
