Ridiculous Christmas Tree Fails: Fir Flops, Pathetic Pines and More
Sometimes when you try to deck the halls, you just end up wrecking them.
Reese’s chocolates recently tried its best to spread holiday cheer with its new Christmas tree-shaped chocolate treats, but instead launched a #fail trend on Twitter.
The “Peanut Butter Trees” are drawing ridicule over their comically amorphous shapes. As one particularly biting tweet from @Viprockstar stated, “This is not a Xmas tree. … It’s an Xmas turd. #reesesfail.”
To its credit, Hershey’s turned the griping into some genuinely funny ads about the perils of “tree shaming.”
Reese’s isn’t the only one to fall victim to a Christmas tree fail. Sure, Christmas trees all decked out in lights, ornaments, and decorations instantly spark festive feelings, but the holiday staple is a prime canvas for a hilarious fail.
Feel free to enjoy these sad specimens, but don’t let them turn you into a total Grinch. At least these folks tried to get into the holiday spirit, even if it didn’t work out quite as planned.
