Beyoncé-Inspired Skyscraper Wins Approval in Australia

Beyoncé has inspired diet trends, Instagram memes, and a million other things, too. Well, now she’s inspired the design of a new skyscraper planned for Melbourne, Australia. “We’re going to trust you’ve seen the music video for Beyoncé’s Ghost,” says Australian architecture firm Elenberg Fraser. Its 68-story mixed-use tower is an explicit “homage” to the superstar and her video of dancers wrapped in stretch fabric. “Its spiraling curves recall the twists and turns of a woman dancing in black cloth,” says the firm. The structure has received planning approval, but no completion date has been announced.
