A Royal Spread: Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Sells Homemade Honey

Prince Charles’ honey is now selling honey.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has a new line of honey that’s (kinda) homemade; it’s produced by bees in her country garden. According to People, the bees live at Camilla’s Ray Mill House in Wiltshire (we have trouble imagining Camilla wearing a beekeeper outfit).
Duchess of Cornwall Honey is being sold at Fortnum & Mason’s flagship store on Piccadilly in London, at St. Pancras rail station and Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 (you can also get them online).

A statement from the store says: “Each jar is individually labelled and contains carefully crafted and delicately perfumed nectar with subtle hints of chamomile, making it the ideal accompaniment to ice cream on hot summer days, or for sweetening tea.”

If you plan to pick some up, you’d better act fast: there are only 250 jars available for sale. And as you might expect from a product with such a royal pedigree, this honey is a little on the pricey side — about $30 a jar.

Proceeds go to one of the Duchess’ favorite charities: Medical Detection Dogs, a group dedicated to training dogs that provide assistance for people with life-threatening conditions. It’s proof that charity really does begin at home — or, in this case, the backyard.
