A Buzzworthy Beehive Tree House

A Buzzworthy Beehive Tree House

Pete Nelson hosts the Animal Planet show Treehouse Masters, which is now in its second season. One recently highlighted creation is an impressive feat of design and architecture: a beehive tree house.

Take just one look at the structure and you’ll see exactly why the moniker is so fitting. Located in Woodinville, Washington, a little ways north of Seattle, this tree house sits high in the branches of a Douglas fir.

Nelson reassures the viewer that the 2.5-foot diameter tree is more than capable of supporting the weight of the tree house. But enough about logistics, and let’s move onto admiring the nothing short of stunning structure. Among the landscape of a peaceful woodland, a bridged entry transitions to a spiraled cedar staircase that leads to the house.

The tree house itself makes a statement starting at the front door. A gorgeous stain glassed window designed by artist Dennis Meszaros, greets you. The panels of the window are made to look like a honeycomb. Once you enter the tree house, the interior doesn’t disappoint either.

The honeycomb theme continues on with shelving and surrounding windows, giving the home a true beehive like feel. For more check out Treehouse Masters on Animal Planet, Fridays at 10/9C.
