3 Killer Snacks You Make in Your Slow Cooker: Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix and More

There’s something to be said for the slow cooker - it’s just so very handy! This is particularly true during the holidays, when you’re short on time, but big on snacks.

We’ve got three killer crock pot treats that are sure to put a smile on your face!

Pumpkin Pie Spice Chex Mix

Chex Mix is an old standby in the snack department - and for good reason. It’s crunchy, textured and crammed with lots of tasty treats. How about making it seasonally appropriate with a little pumpkin pie spice?

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups of assorted Cereals (rice Chex, chocolate Chex, honey-nut Oh’s. etc…)

  • 2 cups Honey-Roasted Peanuts

  • 2 cups Pretzels

  • ½ cup unsalted Butter, melted

  • ½ cup Maple Syrup

  • ¼ cup light Brown Sugar

  • 2 tablespoons Pumpkin Pie Spice

  • Dash of Vanilla

Materials:

  • Slow Cooker

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients in your slow cooker and set it to high.

2. Cook the mix covered, for about 2 hours, making sure your give it a swirl with a spoon or spatula every 20 minutes to prevent any possible burning.

Cinnamon-Sugar-Spiced Pecans

The smell of cinnamon and sugar is second to none, and when you have it wafting through your home because you’re making cinnamon-sugar pecans in the slow cooker, it’s even better.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Sugar

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar

  • 2 tablespoons Cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

  • 1 Egg White

  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

  • 4 Cups Pecans

Materials:

  • Slow Cooker

Instructions:

1. Combine both sugars, cinnamon and salt in a bowl.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk your egg white until slightly foamy and add in the vanilla, then toss the pecans in the egg white mixture.

3. Add the sugar mixture to the coated pecans and mix well.

4. Add the pecans to the slow cooker, set on low, and cook for 3 hours, stirring every 20-30 minutes.

Crock-Pot Apple Pie Dip

What if apple pie were a dip?! Now that’s something we could get behind!

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz Cream Cheese

  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice

  • 1 Apple, peeled and chopped

  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla

Materials:

  • Slow Cooker

Instructions:

1. Peel and chop your apple.

2. Combine all ingredients in your slow cooker, set it on high, and cook for an hour and a half. Enjoy with graham crackers!
