Decorating is a process, and all those little design decisions — right down to the color of your throw pillows — add up quickly. So save yourself some cash, heartache, and a pile of regrets by avoiding these decorating debacles. 

We turned to HGTV’s Chip Wade, star of Elbow Room and consultant for Liberty Mutual Insurance, to school us on common decorating woes. If nothing else, take this gem from Wade to heart: “Your home can look like it’s straight out of a magazine, but if you don’t enjoy coming home to it, then you’ve made a mistake,” he tells Yahoo Makers.
