Zoe Saldana just dropped a brand new underwear selfie on Instagram and her abs are looking extra fierce!
The 43-year-old actress took the pic for a good reason, too: To raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Zoe says that working out at least three times a week (and mixing up her routines) keeps her strong and in tip-top shape.
Many celebrities are modeling Kit Undergarments to help raise money for breast cancer research. And now Zoe Saldana is showing up with her own underwear selfie.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star dropped a pic of herself on Instagram modeling a pretty cream-colored bralette with matching briefs. Zoe accessorized the whole thing with a multicolored robe, a subtle smile, and totally jacked abs.
“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in American women after skin cancers,” she wrote in the caption. “Thank you @kitundergarments for the gift and for giving 15% of all sales from your #kitsToKickCancer collection to Women’s Cancer Research Fund during the month of October. #kitstokickcancer.”
People totally freaked out in the comments. “Beauty 😍😍,” one wrote. “Just goddess,” another said. “💕💕💕,” wrote yet another fan.
Zoe didn’t get those sculpted abs by accident, although she’s been honest about needing to tailor her workouts around her busy schedule. "Between travel, meetings, and shoots, schedules are rough for me," she previously told Shape. The 43-year-old actress said she aims to work out three times a week, but you won’t find her doing the same exercises day in and day out. “I don't believe in getting on one machine for 30 minutes,” she said.
Zoe said she needs to mix things up to stay hooked. That means doing 20-minute intervals—either at the gym or at home—where she runs in place for 30 seconds, followed by squats, and carrying “ a heavy medicine ball a few times in a row until I get my heart rate up,” she said.
Since she can’t work out as often as she’d like, Zoe said she tries to eat really well. “When I eat everything in balance, I think less about food and more about everything else,” she said. “It's about eating to live, not living to eat.”
What, exactly, does she eat? Zoe told Bon Appetit that she’ll reach for avocado toast with tomato slices in the morning, followed by a panini for lunch.
“My husband just loves cured meats,” she said. “So I’ll get bresaola and another thick salami from a local farm, or really good organic turkey breast. And cheeses. I’m 80% gluten-free, and so is my family, so I get different types of bread and arrange everything on the table like a beautiful feast. I get the panini makers out and everyone makes their own sandwiches.”
Zoe also said that she gets “pretty creative with eggs,” but isn’t so great at cooking meat. But she really aims to eat healthy most days of the week. “There’s a serenity to knowing that, because four days out of the week you took care of yourself relatively well, you can really just close your eyes and enjoy the pizza or dim sum or fish and chips,” she said.
Those abs, though…
